He received his Electronics Engineering City & Guilts Diploma from Federal Institute of Technology in 1992.
University
Desmond Tan, received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from University of Melbourne in 1994.
In the very beginning
After graduating, he moved back to Kuala Lumpur and began a career in the advertising industry.
He joined Telekom Publication, the official Yellow Pages publisher of Malaysia in 1994.
He was then invited to join Paradigm Infosystem in 1996 as part of sales and marketing team
After serving his contract, he assembled a group of partners to form Asia Pacific Net (M) Sdn Bhd in 1997. The company has grown exponentially, and it is now a group of diversified IT companies under the flagship of Asia Pacific GROUP. The Group is managed by Asia Pacific Holdings Berhad, a public limited company.
